About me
Wei-Ann Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at National Central University, Taiwan. His research interests include computer experiment, uncertainty quantification, machine learning, and applications of statistics in engineering.
Industrial Collaboration
In addition to academic research, Wei-Ann Lin works on statistical collaboration for industrial design and decision-making problems. His consulting experience includes confidential projects related to engineering design, defense-oriented industrial systems, and chemical formulation optimization. Since many of these projects involve proprietary information, they are described here only in broad terms.
Relevant areas include computer experiments, Bayesian optimization, uncertainty quantification, surrogate modeling, design of experiments, reliability-oriented modeling, and statistical analysis for complex engineering systems.
Education
Wei-Ann Lin received a Ph.D. at the Department of Statistics at National Cheng Kung University in 2025. He was jointly advised by Profs. Ray-Bing Chen and Profs. Chih-Li Sung. He also received a B.S in mathematics and an M.S. in statistics from National Cheng Kung University in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
